1. What should I bring to the consultation?

Bring your photo ID and any important medical documents/x-rays from your doctor. Men, bring shorts for intake photos. Women, bring shorts or leggings and sports bras for intake photos. Please, no black clothing.

2. What should I bring to my first workout?

Have all documents signed and submitted. Please bring a water bottle, clothes that are easy to move in, and tennis shoes. We prefer shoes that are low-profile - please let us know if you'd like recommendations before investing in a new pair. Get a good night's sleep!

3. What is "The Amazing 12"?

The Amazing 12 is a program that was created by Paul McIlroy of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Paul is a programming genius and a world champion athlete. Head trainer at Uplift, Nancy Townsend, was certified under McIlroy in his first certification held in the United States. Uplift is the only fitness facility that offers The Amazing 12 in the Washington, DC area.

4. What happens if I travel?

When you travel, you can rent a travel kit from us that includes a door-mountable TRX and access to online workout videos that will help you get your workouts in, no matter where you are. You can also pause your membership.

5. How do I pause my membership?

You can pause your Everyday Athlete or Elixir membership for up to 2 months out of the year. To pause your membership, please email info@upliftdc.com with 48 hour notice. Use the subject, “Pause Member: Your Name”. In the email, include specific dates of your requested pause. The minimum membership hold is 7 days.

6. Do you provide nutrition planning?

Depending on the program you choose, we do offer nutrition counseling. We also have an accountability program to keep you on track as you make big changes in your life.

7. Do you do cardio in your workouts?

Yes, there is cardio involved to keep your whole body healthy. If you are new to cardio, we will ease you in so that you will see results quickly, but also feel comfortable adjusting to the pace.

8. Do you have towel service?

Yes, every member can grab a fluffy towel at the front.

9. What about hydration?

Feel free to fill up your water bottle with our delicious, filtered water.

10. How early should I arrive for yoga and strength classes?

If you plan to register and pay at the studio, come in 10-15 minutes before class, so we have time to get you checked in. If you have registered online, come in at least 5-10 minutes before.
